Aston Martin DB5s showcased for new 007 Time To Die film

James Bond's Aston Martin DB5

Originally driven by Sean Connery in Goldfinger (1964), the classic DB5 has become an icon of the franchise despite only making a handful of appearances over the years, though it has starred in three of Craig’s previous adventures: Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre. The official James Bond Twitter account posted a photo of not one, but three, Aston Martin DB5s lined up against the stunning backdrop of Matera, Italy.

The Aston Martin DB5 is one of the most expensive cars in the world; a recent Bond tribute DB5 was sold for a whopping $6.4 million at an auction in the US. However, the presence of three of these classics on the shoot suggests that one may be utterly destroyed during an action sequence – shock horror!

The Aston Martin DB5 won’t be the only Bond car we are likely to see in the film either. Daniel Craig has already been pictured stepping out of an all-black V8 Vantage, previously driven by Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights (1987). The jury is out on whether it will be equipped with the same laser and rocket booster features as the original.

It won’t just be classics making an appearance in the film either; the new Aston Martin Valhalla is going to have a role in the film too – though to what extent is still unclear. In any case, we can’t wait to see these cars in action!
